World Customs Organization resumes its main sessions

The World Customs Organization resumed its main sessions today, which will last for six consecutive days, chaired by President of Customs, Chairman of World Customs Organization Council His Excellency Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa,  after the global situation has improved from the effects of the Corona pandemic. The  Public Policy Committee will hold its 86th session from 20th -22nd July 2022 and will discuss the reports of the technical and administrative committees, the Secretary-General report on the work progress during the last stage, the project of the new strategic plan 2022- 2025, in addition to discussing the arrangements and procedures in post- coronavirus environment.  Moreover, the committee will review the establishment of  a global platform for exchanging information and the issue of green customs.

It is worth noting that the 139/140 session of the World Customs Organization will be chaired by HE Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa from 23-26 June, with the participation of 184 member states of the organisation.  

A Chairman of the Organization Council for the session 2022-2023 will be elected in addition to  electing  the Assistant Secretary-General and members of the Public Policy Committee, Chairman and members of the Finance Committee and Chairman and members of the Audit Committee.
