The pre-customs clearance to launch in April at King Fahad Causeway

Under the patronage of Customs Affairs President, Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Customs Affairs has held a negotiation meeting on pre-customs clearance with customs clearance agents at the Land Ports Customs Directorate.

The president highlighted that the meeting coincided with the celebration of the International Customs Day on January 26 out of the partnership and to reach out to all stakeholders for the development of customs work.

He highlighted that the pre-customs clearance could be done when the importing company receives documents from the exporting company, and then the customs agent drafts the customs statement before the arrival of the shipment.

This could assist the Customs Affairs of determining if the products required screening, manual search or immediate release. He highlighted that the system would be implemented from April 1.
