Customs Affairs attends meeting in Saudi Arabia

The Customs Affairs has taken part in a meeting at the headquarters of the Saudi General Customs Authority. The preparatory meeting was organised before the third bilateral meeting between the heads of Bahrain and Saudi customs departments to discuss the entry points system to be implemented from January.

The meeting, attended by the Director of Customs Clearance and a delegation of the authority concerned set up a committee to finalise certain related steps and set a timeframe to increase the number of customs ports.

The Customs Affairs has sent a technical team to China to examine four container-scanning devices to ensure they meet the specifications and conditions mentioned in the supply contract. The devices are the latest in the field of scanning containers and trucks and the scanning tests have been successful. The Customs Affairs is keen to implement the latest developments in customs and security and to benefit from the skills of qualified national manpower, especially by training them on testing devices. Many countries assign such testing tasks to foreign experts.
