Customs Affairs installs hi-tech scanning system at airport

His Excellency President of Customs Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa has visited the Bahrain International Airport to inspect the newly-introduced advanced scanning system.

Earlier, the Customs Affairs had announced the supply of six devices as the first phase to replace the old ones at all customs ports. Those hi-tech devices are considered better for detecting illegal and banned items. The devices are part of the second goal of the Customs Affairs strategy for 2017-20.

Customs Training Institute course for chemical-importing firms

The Customs Training Centre has held a course for clearance agents and representatives of companies that import chemical products. It was organised in cooperation with the National committee for banning manufacturing, production, storage and usage of chemical weapons and their destruction. Thirty-eight specialists from government organisations and companies attended the course.
