Al Amn: Customs Affairs to use high-tech equipment at ports

Head of Investigation at the Customs Affairs Major Abdullah Subah Al Dossairi said on Al Amn Radio show on Thursday that hi-tech equipment will be used to facilitate traffic at the customs ports.

He said the Customs Affairs was keen to ensure a smooth and fast movement of traffic while ensuring sufficient inspection. He said that in February 15,000 trucks entered Bahrain and as many exited through King Fahad Causeway.

Customs President honours officer for refusing bribe

His Excellency President of Customs Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa has honoured customs officer at the Land Customs Ports Directorate Ahmed Ali Al Mannai for refusing to accept a bribe from an importer to clear a commercial shipment of counterfeit goods. 

The importer was arrested in cooperation with the Directorate of Information and Investigation at the Customs Affairs. The President affirmed the department’s resolve to honour and motivate sincere, distinguished and honest employees. He also appreciated Mr Al Mannai for his honesty.
